St. Paul's in New Albany has many facets of service that you can participate in.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild ministry is to work with and for the Rector in making the worship life of the parish run smoothly. The team members shallprepare the place of worship before each service:
- Cleaning the Chancel area.
- Use appropriate hanging for the church season.
- Having flowers and candles in place.
- Prepare the altar with linens, chalice, and bread and wine ready for the celebration of the Lord's supper.
Volunteers serve for a calendar month; approximately, tow hours each week is needed.
Building and Grounds
The Building and Grounds Committee is obligated for the upkeep of the Church, Carriage House, and Parish House to include any repairs needed to the buildings and maintenance of all utilities. Duties include:
- Lawn care
- Leaf Removal
- Snow and Ice removal
- Gutter Cleaning
- Painting
One Saturday morning in the spring and fall is set aside for outdoor clean up.
Christian Education/Sunday School
Adult Forum:
Biblical discussions led by the Rector and the others take place during coffe hour following the 10 A.M. service in the Carriage House
Sunday School:
Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, grades 1-3 and greades 4-6 meet in the Parish House during the Adult Forum. The Nursery cares for our little ones under the age of 5.
Endowment
The Endowment Committee gives parishioners an opportunity to give to the work of the church through a variety of ways, including securities, bequests in wills, charitable remainder trusts, other trusts, life insurance policies, real estate and other property.
Finance
The Financial Committee, composed of the Treasurer and four to five other members to be appointed by the Rector, is responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the church and establishing the operating budget
- Tellers: This team counts the offering recieved from the previous Sunday and Tuesday service.
- Volunteers serve one Tuesday morning each month for an hour a day.
Liturgy
This committee is composed of representatives of the Clergy, Altar Guild, Music Director and others who meet once a month to plan and evaluate the services of the parish.
Media and Communication
The Committee facilitates and coordinates parish, neighborhood and multi-county awareness of our existence and outreach.
- The Vision- A monthy newsletter
- Parish Pictorial Directory-Publish and updates the directory
- Parish Website- Creates, updates, and maintains the parish site
- Advertising- Insuring proper and prompt advertising for Sunday services, special events in local newspapers, bulletins, banners and other advertising means
Memorial Garden
The Committee has developed a Memorial Garden for the Interment of cremains of our members and their immediate families,
along with establishing a Memorial garden fund to provide for the design and mainttenance of the Garden.
Outreach
The Outreach Committee is St. Paul's wonderful acts of kindness which reach the local community, the United States, and worldwide. Included in these are the following activities
