Shepherd’s Kitchen is St. Paul’s way of being Christ’s hands and feet in our little part of the world. We strive to serve all of our guests as we would serve Christ himself. We now frequently have 60-80 men, women and children who come for dinner at St. Paul’s on Friday nights. Eight teams of about 15 volunteers each include folks from St. Paul’s and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Teams rotate weekly to assure that there’s a friendly welcome and a hot meal in the Community Room on our parish campus. All of the teams have added more volunteers, and additional team volunteers have enabled us to serve more efficiently and clean up more quickly.
Several times during the year we gather items for local outreach programs whether it is food for HOPE Southern Indiana or coats for the New Albany Housing Authority.
Pet Food Pantry
On the third Saturday of the month from 9:30-11:00 am we offer free pet and kitty litter for those in need. On average we distribute about 3,000 pounds of pet food a month.
